# Spring 2026 š¼ GeneCov Upgrade
TheĀ **GeneCov**Ā tab has received a significant upgrade, giving you a clearer and more actionable view of coverage quality across your genes of interest ā and making it faster to assess and report panel completeness.
#### New coverage assessment options
Gene status can now be calculated based onĀ **average gene coverage**Ā (new default) in addition to the previously supported worst single exon criteria. A new dropdown menu lets you switch between these two modes, updating both the summary bubbles at the top and the status column in the table accordingly.
#### Improved filtering & visibilityĀ
TheĀ **Gene Status Summary** - i.e. the coverage statusĀ a given gene is assigned -Ā is now based on the selected transcripts (whether canonical or transcript-file-based status is being used) for better clarity.
#### Smarter exports
The download button now offers dedicatedĀ **gene-level and exon-level export options**, with all active filters (gene panel, transcripts, manifest) properly applied to the exported file. Gene-level export produces one row per transcript, and selecting "canonical only" reduces this to one row per gene ā no more manual editing of exported files!
#### Coverage in clinical reports
- Coverage results can now be summarized at theĀ **gene level**Ā in the clinical report, making it much easier to report panel completeness at a glance.
- This is now also available forĀ **WES analyses** (previously panel-only). To keep reports manageable, WES users will need to either apply a panel filter or exclude genes with "Covered" status before generating the report.
