What is the UP² score?
Learn about the UP² functional prediction score displayed in the variants table.
The UP² (Universal Pathogenicity Predictor) score is a machine learning-based functional prediction score ranging from -1 to 1. It classifies variants into three categories:
- P (Pathogenic): score > 0.1
- VUS (Variant of Uncertain Significance): score ≥ -0.1 and ≤ 0.1
- B (Benign): score < -0.1
The UP² score is displayed by default in the variants table. It can be hidden via the column management panel if not needed for your workflow.
💡 The UP² score is also one of the three main components used by DiagAI to calculate the overall DiagAI score for germline variant prioritization.
